In the extreme background at left, a series of trees can be seen near a line of utility poles. At least two automobiles can be seen parked along the curve. Photoprint reads: "Looking southwest from the intersection of Aldama Street and Buchanan Street, during the rain of Feb. 4, 1931. This condition will be corrected by the Annandale Boulevard and York Boulevard Storm Drain System".

There are several broad paved streets visible, while many trees are mixed in with the buildings. The bare hill from which the photograph was taken can be seen in the foreground at left.
