Photograph in panorama of East Hollywood from Laughlin Park, California, 1901. Crop rows separate three houses on three separated homesteads cutting down the center of the image from bottom right to center left, lined by a row of trees. The furthest front sports a house, windmill and what appears to be a grain silo, as well as a third building with a spire. The second homestead in appears to have two houses and a grain silo. The third has four buildings, with three considerably larger than the fourth which stands perpendicular to the other three longhouses. In the distance, the dots of other buildings can be seen on similar plots, along with mountains.
Photograph of a car on the junction of Sunset and Hollywood Boulevards, looking east, ca.1904. The early topless motorcarriage drives along an unpaved road in which the tracks for a railcar are embedded. A unicycle sits off to the roadside. Trees and cablecar poles line the background.
Photograph of the Hoegee residence in East Hollywood, ca.1904. The three-story house sits on top of a hill. Stairs made of stone bricks lead visitors from the clean driveway up through the decorated and well-manicured courtyard and eventually to the house. The house features a large semicircular balcony that also serves as a porch or an arcade for the lower floor. It is possibly the main entrance. A large American flag waves above the façade of the house.
